Kiruna has hiking trails that suit everyone’s taste, from easy walks to rather challenging adventures! No matter where you chose to set out on foot, the feeling is the same – freedom.
Here at Camp Ripan, you can tie your boots and set out directly at the foot of Midnattssolstigen, the Midnigt Sun Trail. This is an easily accessible trail, that takes you through the lush low-mountain landscape to the top of Kiruna’s very own city mountain Luossavaara, where a breathtaking view awaits you! Snow-powdered mountain ranges, vast boreal forests and deep valleys.

The “night” is lit with the midnight sun and magically transforms the landscape with a wash of a golden glow. In Kiruna the midnight sun shines over us from the 27 May until 14 July, never dipping below the horizon. Wandering out into the summer night is truly special.
