Welcome to the exciting city of Kiruna, where the Swedish, Sami and Torne Valley Finnish cultures meet. Most of our produce comes from our three cultural regions, something we would like to tell you more about.

Every dish has its own history. We know where the reindeer wandered and the fish were caught. Our dishes are prepared with care, following traditional recipes and spiced with new twists and influences from around the world.

Restaurang Ripan strives to always choose the most eco-friendly and ethical alternative. Our goal is to give you a dining experience that moves your senses.

Regardless how your dish is prepared, all heating is done by induction which results in the fact we only use energy when the food is heating. All our lightning uses LED-diods with sensor detectors which means the light is only on when necessary.

Dirty pots and pans, cutlery and porcelain is to be washed until they are clean. Our new equipment regulates the water access and temperature from how dirty the dishes are.

If there is anything left on your plate our modern compost machine will take care of it. All organic food waste is to be compost and then used as fertilizer to grow new fresh produce.

We only use natural cooling mediums and equipment that does not contribute to the exhaustion of carbon dioxide.

The heating that generates in our kitchen is used in other areas at Camp Ripan by our modern ventilation system.
