Northern lights tours – winter

Camp Ripan loves the northern lights! Join us on one of our northern lights tours to experience the colourful swirling bands of light. Kiruna is one of the places on Earth where the conditions are very good for seeing the northern lights, whether you choose to join a northern lights tour or remain at Camp Ripan. Here you really don’t have to go any further than right outside your own cabin to see the dance above. To maximize your northern lights experience, we have installed special street lights throughout our facility, where the shades are turned downward so the northern lights are easier to see.  In order to see the northern lights, the weather must be relatively clear. And no matter how much we want our guests to be able to see the magnificent auroras, we cannot do anything about the weather. So, we cross our fingers and hope for the very best of weather, for there is really something special about the magical northern lights dancing across the polar sky.
