Ädmnamvaara, or Eatnamvárri in Northern Sami, is a beautiful excursion destination near Kiruna.
If you drive, head north along the E-10 towards Narvik, and after a bridge, right where Luossa Lake ends, turn right towards Mattarahkka. Follow the road until you reach a large parking area on the other side. As you start your hike, you’ll see signs along the trail to guide you. Five kilometers later, you’ll reach a rest cabin where you can take a break and replenish your energy. Enjoy the sunlit mountain expanses stretching far into the horizon, with Kiruna’s silhouette looming in the distance. Then, it’s all downhill back to the start!
Tips!
Bring your own snacks as the cabin’s café is usually only open in winter.
