Welcome to a journey in the world of the senses of the Sami cuisine where you can cook and eat a meal with traditional food from Sápmi. It is a taste of the traditional food and culture, based on a long experience of taking advantage of what nature offers. Baking gáhkku (Sami traditional bread) over an open fire, producing the special coffee cheese and cooking meat are some of the things you will learn during the day and you get the chance to taste other Sami food also. Around the fire in the goahti (sami hut) we talk about Sami food, culture and way of relating to nature and animals. There we also eat our own cooked meal.
We pick you up in Kiruna and head west towards the mountains where we spend the day in Puoltsa, where we cook mostly in the goahti sitting around the fire. A chance for the food and culture enthusiasts to get an insight into Sami culinary traditions.
